Who are we?
The Senan Optical Fiber Network is a project promoted by theSenan City Councilwith the collaboration of theGuifi·net Foundation, the operatorAccess Pointand the installation companyAltercom21. The objective of this initiative is to deploy a common telecommunications network that reaches all homes and, in this way, provide broadband Internet access to all residents of the municipality of Senan who wish to have it, without discrimination.
What is a common network?
Unlike conventional models, where the ownership of the network is in the hands of a single operator who deploys and exploits it at the same time, the Guifi·net common network model is an infrastructure that is used as a common good: it belongs to all those actors who have invested and who use it. Moreover, it is managed through a series of mechanisms that ensure and prevent anyone from appropriating it, as occurs in the management of common pastures or forests.

When will the network reach my home?
The deployment project of optical fiber in Senan is expected to start between the end of May 2021 and finish in June 2021. Once the optical fiber works are completed in all homes, residents will be able to connect to the common optical fiber network of Senan.
