A telecommunications infrastructure in community format
We facilitate access to the Internet through the construction and management of a shared fiber optic network thanks to the different actors who have promoted, financed, or who use and connect to it. In this way, we enable people who want to be users to be on equal terms.
We advocate for the human right to access the Internet as a basic tool for action and social inclusion; therefore, our network always promotes social, solidarity, and collaborative economy, and develops the information and communication society while eliminating the digital divide between rural and urban areas.

Anyone can access and connect to it without discrimination.
Free
Those who connect can engage in economic, social, cultural activities, contribute content, or simply exchange it.
Neutral
We ensure the non-interference of any public or private entity in the content that circulates and in the technology used.
Questions about the communal network
How is it financed?

The necessary investment to carry out the project is achieved through many agents, including the citizens themselves, the Guifi.net Foundation, the Sakana Community, the Sakana Development Agency, the operators, and the Government of Navarra.

By making a donation, you help grow the project and ensure that the network is shared with all participants.

Additionally, this contribution allows you to enjoy a monthly reduction, and for life, in your monthly fee.
What is the amount of the donation?
As a user of Sakana, you have the option to eliminate the concept of "line fee" from your monthly billby making a contribution of 1,200€. By making this contribution:

You will coverthearrival costof the network to your home or business.

You will never have to pay for this concept with the operators again.

It means enjoying a17€ discounton themonthly bill.
Example in case of making a contribution: if your monthly bill is 45€, you would only have to pay 28€ for Internet access service, as the infrastructure would already be covered
Is it worth it to make a donation?
You decide. At the communal network of Sakana, we inform and give the option for the user to have the possibility to permanently eliminate the cost of "line fee" which is 17€ monthly, that is, 204€ each year.
If you make the donation of 1,200€, after 4.4 years you will have already amortized the amount.
If you do not, you will pay these 17€ always as with the rest of the telecommunications companies.
Is it mandatory to make a donation?
It is not mandatory to make a donation as long as other resources or a bulk of donations from the other participants are found to cover the projects. But it is important to know that this way, you also help extend the network to the rest of the neighbors in the area, thus making Internet accessible to everyone and eliminating the digital divide.
How can I make a donation?
You have two ways to make the payment:

Or you can also do it through the SEPA mandate. We will send you the document that orders the bank direct debit on paper.
When can I make a donation?

You have the option to make the donation in a single payment (1,200€).

Or in two installments (600*2) or up to three payments (400*3).
In the case of being in installments, the payments must be made during the months following the first payment. You can make half of the payment before the installation and the other half once connected.
