An edition with a strong presence of some of the territories with the most guifi·net presence
The guifi·net community meeting, which will take place exclusively at Espai Ecooo, will begin on Friday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. with an informal welcome and snacks with the attendees arriving to celebrate that, after two online editions, the community is reclaiming the physical space.
The following day, Saturday, November 5, starting at 9:00 a.m., the space will host different talks and dynamics where some of the local guifi·net collectives and sections with the most current presence in the peninsula will play a major role. The collectives from Madrid, Asturias, Euskal Herria, Mataró Sense Fils, and Barcelona. The objective of this SAX2022 is precisely to promote and give visibility to all those people who have promoted and who keep the project alive throughout the territory and offer a meeting space to share experiences, in what state they are, objectives they set, and needs they may have.
On the same Saturday, before lunch, the SAX will have the opportunity to meet and share the experience of the Community Radio Network of Barcelona, presented by Efraín Foglia (member of XRCM, eXO.cat, and guifi·net). During the Saturday afternoon, it will start with a brief diagnosis of the guifi·net project by the Foundation with the aim of reviewing and collecting proposals for improvements from the collectives and setting possible new objectives. Next, the three talks on topics will be: "Battlemesh, the international convention on community networks", by Pedro Vílchez (eXO.cat); "Virtualization of internet provision services", by Roger Garcia (Ecosistema Glutec); "Principles of programming data planes in P4 with low-cost hardware", by Víctor Oncins (eXO.cat).
The last day, Sunday, November 6, will start with the talk "Run your processes on the antenna: edge computing" by Antonio Pardo (engineer and guifi·net supporter) and, next, the second talk "Blockchain and smart contracts for network accounting", by Leandro Navarro (Professor at UPC, member of APC.org, and member of the Board of the guifi·net Foundation).
We want to remind you that the meeting space is not intended exclusively for the guifi·net community, but also aims to be a meeting point for people linked, passionate, and interested in the field of telecommunications and technology who seek to facilitate its reach to everyone to improve their daily lives. In addition, it also aims to be a place where people and initiatives linked to the social economy and advocating new models of consumption and shared sovereignties can share experiences, operations, projects, and future challenges.
Throughout the remaining week, those who have not yet registered have time to do so until Tuesday, November 1 through the SAX2022 website, as well as help us share and spread the word on social networks.
From the guifi·net Foundation, we greet you again with great enthusiasm to meet again and continue weaving the common network throughout the territory with the aim of improving people's daily lives.
